Who is a Candidate for Brazilian Butt Lift?

Who is a Candidate for Brazilian Butt Lift?

With the success of curvier celebrities and a shift in choosing a healthier lifestyle, rounder backsides are becoming a trendy cosmetic surgery choice. Now women have the opportunity to improve the shape and firmness with a procedure called a Brazilian Butt Lift. If you’ve longed for a more hour-glass shape, discover whether or not you are a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift.

What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?

A Brazilian Butt Lift is a cosmetic procedure that forgoes the use of implants and utilizes fat transfers. The method uses your fat to create and enhance your backside and give it a more natural look. Liposuction is first performed on specific areas of the body, such as the lower back, stomach, and thighs. The fat is purified and then injected into various spots in the buttocks to obtain the desired shape and feel.

With the Brazilian Butt Lift, the risk of infection is low since we’re utilizing your own fat. And because the procedure uses liposuction, it creates a more uniform, shapely and natural enhancement.

What is the recovery like for a Brazilian Butt Lift?

This procedure requires about three weeks of recovery but produces long-lasting results. Each person’s recovery process will be slightly different than the next. Overall, most people can expect some bruising and swelling in the areas where fat cells were harvested. For example, the thighs and abdomen will be sore immediately following the procedure. Any pain is managed through the use of medication. Some individuals may see some of the excess fluid drain from the incision, which is perfectly reasonable.

One of the most important parts of the recovery process is not sitting on your butt for at least 4 – 8 weeks directly after the procedure. If it sounds complicated, we understand. However, sitting directly on your glutes will reduce the flow of circulation which may stunt the results. Reduction in blood flow prohibits the cells from getting the supply they need. In some instances, not adhering to this rule meant some patients lost around 40% of the volume transferred.

Additionally, patients should avoid sleeping on their back as well. Side and stomach are ideal. By using a pillow, you can help raise the buttocks and relieve any additional pressure.

Can I resume physical activities as long as I don’t sit down?

High-impact activities after any surgery are discouraged. When your body undergoes a certain amount of trauma associated with an operation, it needs time to heal. After one month, the patient may resume light activities like walking. However, we can’t emphasize enough the importance of not sitting down. As we previously mentioned, every person will respond differently from the surgery, but in most cases, regular workouts can resume after 6-8 weeks. The deciding factor will be the stabilization of the fat cells.

Who’s a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift?

If you have always yearned for an hourglass figure, a Brazilian Butt Lift is right for you. This procedure can successfully give you the rounder, firmer backside that you’ve been coveting. Those with stretch marks, cellulite, and loose, hanging skin, also benefit from this type of procedure as it provides an opportunity to tighten and tone.

When considering the surgery, make sure you can commit to the recovery process. Getting the most out of your cosmetic surgery results relies heavily on following the post-op instructions from your doctor. Following these steps ensures the effects are maximized.

Butt Augmentation 101: Everything You Need to Know

Butt Augmentation

Buttock augmentation is one of the fastest growing surgeries and one of our most recommended operations in 2017. With so many different options available to achieve the curves you want, we’ve put together a guide to everything you need to know about Butt Augmentation.

The Operation

There are several different options for butt augmentation depending on the needs of the patient. The most common request in our Nashville office are patients who want implants or a fat transfer.

The butt implant procedure begins with a vertical incision in the upper part of the gluteal fold. From here, the implants can be inserted and shaped. The size and shape of the implants are determined during your initial consultation.

Another contouring option is using fat tissue from your body and injecting it into your buttocks. This procedure begins with fat aspiration from an area of your body, which is filtrated and injected into the buttocks to create a rounder shape.

Expect Some Change in Shape

The results after having implants will be immediate, but if you choose to have fat transfers, it can take 6 – 12 months for the grafts to settle. Usually, 60% – 80% of the fat survives after a transfer, but that percentage could change with weight fluctuation. If you gain weight that percentage will increase, however with weight loss you could lose some volume in the buttocks. If you are currently trying to lose weight, it may be advisable to wait until you’ve achieved your goal.

The Healing Time for Implants is Longer Than Fat Transfers

Since the implant procedure is more involved surgically than having fat transferred, recovery time from implants will take longer. Sitting will be almost nonexistent for up to 3 weeks since you won’t be able to put much if any pressure on the buttocks. You can sleep face down or on your side, but you’ll need to limit the amount you are on your back. This is both for placement and comfort. Exercise will be nonexistent for 6 – 8 weeks, as your body needs to recover from the surgery.
