Skincare Tips for Winter

Skincare MCS

Winter weather is undoubtedly harsher on our skin than warmer seasons, yet many people don’t think to switch up their skincare routine. Cold air, low humidity, and blistering winds each create uncomfortably dry skin or skin that is itchy, red, and irritated. During colder seasons, our skin needs much more help to stay hydrated.

This winter, combat dry winter skin with a few simple skincare tips. After all, retaining your skin’s natural moisture means maintaining your youthful glow all year long.

Water

Many people don’t drink enough water throughout the day, and when it’s cold outside, it’s much easier to forget this step. Since weather with low humidity is most likely to strip skin of moisture, staying hydrated is vital. Sipping water slowly throughout the day rather than gulping it all at once will help the skin stay hydrated. If cold water isn’t doing it for you, drinking tea is also a great way to keep hydrated. Sip on warm teas with natural ginger or lemon.

Cleanse

You may need to switch your summer cleanser for a more effective winter one. In the winter, cleansers with harsh chemicals will feel much more damaging than nourishing. Avoid products with alcohol and added fragrances, as they can strip away natural oils and create dry, cracked skin. Look for products specifically labeled “fragrance-free,” because products simply marked “unscented” may actually contain some fragrance. Instead, choose a cream-based cleanser that will help lock moisture in.

Exfoliate

When winter weather creates dry, itchy skin, exfoliating is probably the last thing on your mind. However, but there are many benefits to exfoliating the skin during the winter. Not only does it slough off dry, dead skin cells, but it also helps regenerate new skin cells. The key is to use a gentle exfoliator that is also very moisturizing and won’t strip moisture from the skin. Add this to your skincare routine once or twice a week at night. After completing this step, slather your skin in a rich moisturizer.

Shower

In the winter, nothing feels better than taking a hot shower or bath. However, hot water not only dehydrates you, but it may also strip away the necessary oils from your body. Hot water evaporates fast, and if the skin is not moisturized quickly, it may crack. Cracks in the skin expose the nerves to air. This can result in what feels like a thousand paper cuts and eczema, or winter’s itch.

If you do indulge in a hot shower or bath, keep your bathroom door closed, and after you dry your body off, moisturize generously.

Also, avoid using excessively hot water to wash your hands. Washing your hands in warm water and might be less irritating to the skin. Always moisturize after washing hands with soap.

Moisturize

We’ve already stated many times to moisturize, but this step is crucial for keeping skin hydrated throughout the winter. Apply a very thick moisturizer as soon as you get out of the bath or shower and then one more time per day to help keep your skin feeling nice and smooth. You can also layer oil on your face and body before applying your cream-based moisturizer to really lock in the hydration.

Avoid the most significant mistake people make hydrating during the winter, which is choosing a lotion instead of a cream. Lotions usually come in pumps, so they’re not as thick, and they’re not as moisturizing. With dry skin, it’s important to use thicker creams or balms, which come in jars or ointments.

Sunscreen

In the summer, you may automatically reach for sunscreen, but most people don’t think to apply it during the winter. Harmful UV rays can still permeate clouds during the darker, dreary days and cause damage. Sunscreen is essential to shield from those harmful UV rays. Choose a sunscreen with at least SPF 30 protection and make sure to cover all the exposed areas of your body.

Injectables and Dermal Fillers

Injectables and dermal fillers are the perfect options for men and women looking to correct wrinkles or folds and restore the contours and smoothness of the face. Roughly one million people annually choose injectables or dermal fillers because of their affordable cost and easy recovery, without extensive surgery.

  • Botox or Dysport (for larger areas) injectables work by relaxing the facial muscles to remove wrinkles on the forehead, around the corners of eyes, or on other areas of the face.
  • Juvederm and Restylane are fillers that provide natural-looking results by smoothing wrinkles and folds, or adding subtle enhancements and smoothing lines.
  • Voluma, Kybella, and Bellafill are used to correct specific areas of the face, including the nose, below the chin, and for the “laugh lines.”

Non-Surgical Facelift

A non-surgical facelift is an excellent option for patients wanting the benefit of a facelift without any incisions. Most people are familiar with a traditional facelift, which helps to correct facial sagging, reduces wrinkles/fine lines, and provides an improved, more youthful appearance.

A Non-Surgical Facelift is great because it uses the body’s own existing stem cells found in fat tissue to help regenerate tissue. Benefits also include:

  • a more predictable outcome
  • a more cost-effective procedure
  • the avoidance of synthetic fillers
  • filling of furrows and wrinkles
  • volumetric lifting effect in the face and breasts area
  • lasting correction of atrophic scars

Why Winter is the Best Time for Laser and Cosmetic Procedures

Why Winter is the Best Time for Laser and Cosmetic Procedures

Some people are still under the misconception that you should not undergo cosmetic procedures or laser treatments during the winter. However, this is one of the best times of year for these treatments! A weaker sun means less sensitivity and an easier healing process for your skin. Additionally, you can spend more time healing indoors, so by summer you’re ready to show off your fabulous results!

Read below to discover why winter is a great time of year for a cosmetic procedure or laser treatment.

You Have Time to Plan Ahead

A concern most cosmetic surgeons hear from patients is they would like to recover in private and they want the post-op to be discrete so that they can heal comfortably. Planning your procedure around the holidays allows you to take advantage of some of the time off already allocated to you.

More Conducive to Treatment Plans

If you want to take advantage of the age reversing benefits of lasers, you’re looking at multiple sessions to get your desired results. These treatments are spread out because your skin needs time to heal in between. Cosmetic surgeons will also recommend that you avoid sun exposure. In winter, this is much easier to do because we naturally spend more time indoors.

You’ll Be Ready for Summer

When summer creeps up on us, we start thinking about fitting into swimsuits, shorts, and dresses. However, when you are considering laser treatments or cosmetic surgery you have to include recovery time. Undergoing procedures in the winter means you have plenty of time for your skin to heal and the swelling to go down, so you’ll be ready to show off your new self by summer.

Your Skin is Lighter

Give your summer tan time to fade before you book your laser treatments because they tend to work better on lighter skin. Lasers have an easier time penetrating the epidermis when your skin is at its lightest hue. So, if you wait until fall and winter, the treatment will be more effective.

UVA Won’t Damage Results

The goal of a laser treatment is to heal and repair you skin. However, being outdoors in the sun you are exposed to UVA rays, which damage to the skin. Since the sun’s power is much lower in the winter, you will receive less damage. Even if you apply sunscreen, waiting until the fall or winter is still a better option.

There is Less Sensitivity

Not only does the sun and UVA rays damage your skin, but they make it incredibly sensitive, which will also interfere with your results. The goal after a procedure is to heal properly. Spending more time inside means you will recover better and give your body the self-care it needs post-op.

The Additional Layers Are Protective

Part of a laser treatment or cosmetic procedure’s recovery might include redness, swelling, and sometimes flaky skin. By adding winter layers, you are providing an extra layer of protection between your new delicate skin and harsh elements. You can also use these layers to hide any bandages and temporary swelling you might encounter while recovering.

Laser treatments and cosmetic procedures help define silhouettes and improve the skin’s appearance. Whatever it is you want to enhance, reduce, define, shape, or smooth, there are practical solutions available to you this winter!

At Marvel Cosmetic Surgery, we offer a comprehensive list of laser and cosmetic procedures. We provide patients with the most advanced processes to get unparalleled results with an emphasis on care. Call us today at 615-329-3900 to see how we can help you get your desired results!

Why Medical Peels are the Secret to Younger Skin

Why Medical Peels are the Secret to Younger Skin

Achieving younger, glowing skin is possible with the use of medical peels. Medical peels use a variety of different acid combinations to slough away dead skin and reveal fresher, plumper looking skin. It will also improve the way your skin absorbs the ingredients in your skin care products, which will help continuously improve your skin’s complexion and appearance.

Although medical peels have been around several years, many women still aren’t aware of all their benefits. We’ve compiled a list of seven different ways medical peels can help give you a youthful glow.

Peels make your skincare routine more effective

Medical peels lift the top layer of dead skin cells off the face. Dead skin is not absorbent and when it sits on top of the face it makes it harder for your skin care products to do their job. Dissolving the dead skin erases this barrier, making it easier to absorb all the good ingredients found in your face washes, lotions, and oils.

Immediate results for smoother looking skin.

Anyone who wants immediately smoother looking skin should choose a medical peel. They are effective at sloughing off the dead skin that leave a textured appearance. Without this added texture, your makeup application will look smoother, more even and the appearance of pores will be minimized.

There is a peel for every skin concern.

Not every skin reacts and behaves the same way. When it comes to beauty routines, you’ll want to find the best one to suit your needs. The virtue of medical peels lie in the customization of each treatment, meaning there is a medical peel that will suit just about every skin concern.

Medical peels come with minimal side-effects.

Years ago, many people associated medial peels with a red, burned face. But now, you can add and subtract acids and their intensity, so it’s possible to build a gentle, yet effective peel that is perfect for your skin. Some skin types can handle stronger acids than others, so there is a lot of flexibility to building the right amount of acids for your specific needs.

Peels eliminate acne and acne scarring.

Different acids that have different benefits. For example, salicylic acid has the ability to dive deep and unclog pores. They erode blackheads and fight blemishes at the root. The solution can also linger in the pores to help the skin stay clear over time.

You can reduce the appearance of melasma.

Melasma is a common skin problem among adults. It’s identified as brown or grey patches on the skin, which mostly appear on the face. This discoloration can present itself as a result of too much sun exposure or during hormonal changes in women. Medical peels help to drastically reduce the appearance of melasma.

You can target dark circles under the eyes.

We’ve already touched on how customizable the formulation is for building the right peel for your skin. But, this expands into a gentle acid combination that can work wonders on minimizing the pigmentation under the eyes. Because they are so gentle, you might need a series of treatments to see the best results.

Your Guide to Flawless Summer Skin

Your Guide to Flawless Summer Skin

Summer is here and that means many of us spend more time outside than in, due to our constant activities or vacations. During these months, many women choose to wear less makeup as they lounge by the pool or relax at the beach. If you are looking for ways to improve the appearance of your skin so you can feel more confident going au naturel too, we’ve highlighted some of the best treatments at Marvel Cosmetic Surgery.

Hyaluronic Enhancer

Hyaluronic acid is an amazing product that makes your skin look younger, fresher, and more subtle. Overall, it’s a skincare superstar and is found naturally in your body. Although the name says acid, it’s not. It’s actually a sugar molecule found in the body that holds almost a thousand times its weight in water. The result is plumper, fresher looking skin. As a facial treatment, it has the ability to smooth out skin and add volume. If you’re looking to obtain natural, dewy skin Hyaluronic Enhancer is a fantastic option.

Botox

Combating fine lines and wrinkles is possible with Botox. Botox is derived from neurotoxins that relax facial muscles. The process encourages patients to limit movements that enhance age lines like furrowing or frowning. What it does not do is add volume to the skin. Instead, it focuses on eliminating wrinkles cosmetically around the eyebrows, mouth, and forehead. The results provide patients with a more youthful complexion.

O2 Lift

An interest in a spa-like experience is completed with the O2 Lift Facial. This facial is a multi-step treatment that infuses oxygen, stem cells, peptides, and a high concentration of botanicals that are designed to exfoliate, illuminate, and oxygenate. The process is safe and great for all skin types. The products used are free from acid and sulfates and work to balance out the skin’s pH leaving you with nothing to the softest and most radiant skin.

Fillers

Fillers are similar to Botox as they are injected into different areas of the face. But while Botox eliminates lines by relaxing the muscles, fillers work to add volume to the skin. The perfect candidate for fillers will have a noticeable loss of volume around the mouth, eyes, jaw, and cheeks. There are a variety of fillers available that provide patients with the youthful, glowing skin they desire. The best part is the utilization of Hyaluronic Acid. Because it’s naturally found in the body, these fillers will work well with almost everyone.

Intense Pulse Light Facial Rejuvenation (IPL)

IPL Facials are designed to improve the appearance of photo-aged skin on both the face and body. It treats broken capillaries and age spots for a smoother looking skin. Additionally, it can reduce the appearance of redness, correct skin pigmentation and irregularities. The treatment uses emissions from high-intensity lasers to treat deep within the dermis. These lasers are filled with plasma and destroy skin cells that may be damaged. It will also induce a natural healing process.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a popular treatment that eliminates dead skin cells but stimulates cell growth. Many patients use it to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, large pores, and other imperfections. It’s a non-invasive procedure which means there are no incisions or scarring. Microdermabrasion is perfect for anyone who is looking to get rid of age spots, sun damage, acne, scares, or hyper-pigmentation. By exfoliating the skin and stimulating collagen production, your skin looks healthier and more rejuvenated.

Protecting Your Skin

The best way to protect your skin is to use sunscreen every day to reduce the chances of getting sun damage or wrinkles. You should apply it under your makeup and wear it regardless of how much sun you plan on getting that day. Even when you drive or sit next to your office window, you are subjecting your face’s delicate cells to UVA and UVB lights that in high doses accelerate aging and sometimes cause cancer.

Additionally, never underestimate the power of water. Your 8 glasses a day are a natural way to remove toxins from your body that can cause your skin to look dull. Try to swap your cokes and coffee with a glass of water as often as you can to keep skin looking youthful.

Skin Care for Your Twenties, Thirties, and Forties

The Best Skin Care for Your Twenties, Thirties, and Forties

Skincare is incredibly important, no matter what your age. Developing a great skincare routine early on will set you up for success as the years start to tick by. Each generation needs different products according to their skin’s need, but far too often we see clients using the same products they did when they were teenagers. Below we’ve listed everything you need to know to keep your skin healthy and fresh at any age!

For your Twenties

What you should focus on: In your twenties, you should spend time developing a skincare routine that will keep you hydrated and protect you from skin damage. Try to increase your water intake. Water is the body’s best detoxifier and getting into a habit of drinking plenty of it will mean your skin will look healthy and fresh no matter your age. Also, you’ll want to invest in sunscreen for your face. This habit is one you want to start now to protect you from premature wrinkles and sunspots.

What you should avoid: The worst thing you can do in your twenties is making a habit of sleeping in your makeup. Most twenty-year-olds are in school or working their first career job and regardless of how late or tired, a good cleansing habit will keep your skin free from bacteria. Fortunately, in your twenties, your skin is still producing higher levels of collagen which means you don’t need to focus too heavily on anti-aging creams. Just keep the skin hydrated with plenty of water and moisturizer.

For Your Thirties

What you should focus on: trying to reduce anxiety and stress because they wreak havoc on the skin. A lot of women in their thirties are accelerating their careers, getting married, or having kids. All of which can prove to be very stressful. Choose anti-aging products with multiple ingredients like antioxidants and retinoid to help with cell development. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the body and gives skin plumpness. When shopping for facial products, make sure it’s listed in the ingredients as well.

What you should avoid: If possible try to allow yourself as much time for sleep. It will not only keep your skin looking fresh but keep the dark circles at bay. You can also start using AHA products that have natural acids in them to help reduce fine lines, wrinkles and increase cell production. It’s a form of exfoliation, and it does fantastic things for your skin. It also makes it easier for your skin to absorb all the amazing anti-aging products by dissolving the dead skin that is sitting on your face.

For Your Forties

What you should focus on: Your collagen levels fluctuate a lot in your forties which means you should invest in a perfect retinoid cream to combat any fine lines or wrinkles. You’ll also want to focus on heavier moisturizers. For most people, our skin dries as we age and becomes sensitive. These issues can lead to red, inflamed skin and a deep, heavy facial cream locks in moisture. Look for one that has ceramides or fatty acids in the ingredients.

What you should avoid: If your skin has become super dry, you can skip the morning face wash if it was a part of your routine. Dry skin looks dull and clogs pores. Additionally, it enhances the appearance of wrinkles which is not something we want. You’ll also want to stop ignoring problem areas. If sunspots or deep wrinkles just don’t dissipate no matter what you do, there are skin laser treatments and injectables that can remove age spots and plump out skin.

If you are ready to talk about a treatment plan for younger, healthier looking skin, call 615-329-900 today! One of our expert members of staff can walk you through the best options available to achieve the results you want! Don’t delay, and book your appointment today!

Biggest Beauty Trends for 2018

Biggest Beauty Trends for 2018

The new year is here, bringing with it fresh beauty trends. 2018 is all about celebrating what you were born with and enhancing what you already have. The focus is shifting to a more natural look in makeup, hair, and cosmetic trends. Below we’ve compiled a list of the top beauty trends people will be requesting and using in 2018.

Natural Makeup

Forget heavy, caked on foundations and powders; celebrities are now minimizing the amount of makeup they apply and focusing instead on their natural features. This means ditching the heavy use of highlighters on the cheeks, nose, and under the eyebrow. The idea is to enhance your natural beauty. You’ll see this look a lot on the red carpet, especially at this year’s Oscars.

The Longer, the Better

Lobs and Bobs will take a back seat because Rapunzel hair is the new length for 2018. The 90’s are back with luscious locks falling to a hip-grazing length and a middle part. If you decided to chop it all off last year, you don’t have to wait years for it to grow out, just invest in some quality hair extensions.

Products The Multi-Task

In 2017, the Korean 10-step beauty routine was a huge hit. It was great for keeping your skin looking healthy and bright, but also an excellent way to pamper yourself. However, in 2018 products will focus on being multitaskers that will promise to fix more than one issue in a single application. They should balance out skin tone, hydrate, and smooth texture.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation continues to be one of the most popular cosmetic procedures, but it looks a little different in 2018. Requests to look like Pamela Andersons or Dolly Parton has tapered off and now, most women prefer the healthy size of Taylor Swift or Jennifer Lawrence. The idea is having enough to work with, without looking like you’ve had any surgery done. Small and perky is the most requested size.

Blondes Have More Fun

The biggest hair color trend for 2018 is all about blondes, but just not the way you think. Instead of applying root to tip, leave the roots dark and style with a tasseled wave for the ultimate look. You’ll also want to skip the bleach because it’s all about a warm, rich tone that compliments your natural glow.

A New Red Lip

A red lip never goes out of style, and this year it’s going to get a new update. You can now sport red lipstick in glitter and metallic. These fresh finishes give lips extra dimension and glamour. Shades vary from deep rich raspberry to a bright cherry which means regardless of your undertones, you can find a shade that works for you.

Face Oil

Coconut and argan oil are fantastic for your face, but 2018 will introduce us to the moringa oil. It mimics the oil your skin naturally produces making it easy to apply to any skin type. It’s lightweight, so it nourishes deeply and works well on dry skin. This oil is also following the multitasking trend by working as an excellent moisturizer for the face, body, and hands.

Acid Peels

Acids peels had a moment in the early 2000’s, and they are making a comeback in two ways. There are gentle at home grades you can apply every day with retinol cream, and then there are the advanced versions you can get done in a Medspa. For example, Vitamin C peel works wonders for treating uneven skin tone, acne, scarring, fine lines, and wrinkles. The Vitamin C Peel sloughs off dead skin leaving you fresh and radiant. This also allows for you skin to better absorb that multitasking product you are using on your face.

5 Ways to Refresh Your Skin This Winter

5 Ways to Refresh Your Skin This Winter

It’s hard to believe, but it’s that time of year again. The holidays are among us which means loads of time spent with family and friends celebrating and in this digital age you can expect lots of photos! It’s easy to forget about your skincare routine between all the planning and gift shopping, so we’ve put together five ways to refresh your skin just in time for those holiday memories!

Deep condition

The winter months bring about the colder weather which lacks moisture and harsh winds only make your skin worse. Protecting yourself from dryness will eliminate red, flaky skin. We highly recommend swapping out your lotion for a cream moisturizer. While most brands will offer both options, the most significant difference between the two is the water content. Lotions have a higher volume of water that leads to dry skin in the winter. Swapping out your current option with cream provides your skin with a protective layer against dehydration. We love Cerave creams; they are the number one dermatologist recommended facial moisturizer and come in a variety of thicknesses for all skin types.

Medical Peel

Medical peels are a great way to restore skin elasticity and brighten the face which is exactly what you want when it comes to holiday photos. There are a few medical peels that provide amazing results that are perfect for this time of year:

Phyto-Pumpkin Peel – This enzyme peel helps glycolic-sensitive skin. It contains Vitamin A and Beta Carotene, ideal for adding a healthy glow to the surface. Because of the gentle exfoliation, this peel works on all skin types, especially those prone to rosacea.

VI Peel® – The VI Peel® contains a synergistic blend of ingredients suitable for all skin types. This peel works at the cellular level to tackle skin problems such as fine lines, wrinkles, and shrinking enlarged pores. With the help of many acids and vitamins, it’s efficient at reducing hyperpigmentation and acne.

Illuminize Peel – Known as the “Liquid Microdermabrasion,” this light peel contains Phytic, Mandelic, Malic, and Salicylic Acids, along with Resorcinol, to rejuvenate the skin. Because it is a lighter treatment, it works well for teens or those who have never had a medical peel.

Drink Plenty of Water

It’s hard to hear, but we highly suggest putting down that Pumpkin Spiced Latte and picking up a glass of water. It’s easy to believe that you need to drink more water in the summer rather than winter due to the humidity, but the lack of moisture during these colder months causes unnecessary dehydration. Your skin is your largest organ but is usually the last to receive nutrients. It should be noted that there is a difference between dry and dehydrated skin. Dry skin is a condition you’re born with, and you know it pertains to you because other areas of your body (hands, feet, scalp) are also dry. Dehydrated skin appears when your water intake is low. Either way, your entire body will benefit from an increase of water, by flushing out toxins and plumping up your skin.

Face Fillers

If you want to plump up your skin and reverse signs of aging, face fillers are a great option. There are two kinds to choose from:

Injectables: Injectables is a blanket term for a procedure that transfers product directly into the skin and muscle tissue via a syringe to help reduce the signs of aging. Botox and Fillers both use this method and obtain favorable results, but they each perform in entirely different ways. We’ll discuss the differences below so you can choose which one is right for you.

Fillers: Fillers differ from Botox because they are injected into the contours of your face, not to paralyze, but to add volume or plump specific areas.

Some fillers are made with hyaluronic acid which fills in wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid is a substance your body naturally produces to keep skin plump and hydrated. Since it already occurs in the body, these fillers are less likely to cause an allergic reaction. The filler itself has a gel-like consistency that is injected into the skin to smooth fine lines.

10 Gift Suggestions from Marvel Cosmetic Surgery

10 Gift Suggestions from Marvel Cosmetic Surgery

The holiday season is here, and that means Christmas shopping is in full swing. If you are looking for a unique way to show that special someone just how much you appreciate them, why not treat them to special treatment from Marvel Cosmetic Surgery. They can pamper themselves with one of our Medspa services or enhance their figure with one of our surgical treatments. We offer a variety of options, but we’ve compiled a list of some of our most popular treatments!

#1 Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a popular skin rejuvenation treatment that reduces dead skin cells and stimulates new cell growth. It is often used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, large pores and other skin imperfections.

#2 IPL Facial Rejuvenation

Intense Pulsed Light, or IPL, improves the appearance skin on the face and body with little-to-no downtime. By treating broken capillaries and age spots (sun-induced freckles), IPL creates smoother looking skin through a process called photo-rejuvenation. IPL reduces redness and brown spots on the face, neck, hands, chest, arms, and legs.

#3 SkinPen

SkinPen uses fine “microneedles” to create microscopic channels in the skin. These channels allow products to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin, resulting in better treatment outcomes. The treatment takes about 15-30 minutes and can be used on any part of the body. As the skin repairs itself, new collagen and elastin production is triggered, creating healthier skin. Results are noticeable after only one treatment. Improvement continues with a series of treatments.

#4 CO2 Laser Treatment

At Marvel Cosmetic Surgery, we achieve a quality of care and surgical results by incorporating the latest techniques and procedures in our practice. As advocates of minimally invasive procedures, we are proud to announce the addition of the Phoenix 15 CO2 Laser. Read on to discover the benefits. It can help with:

  • Skin Resurfacing
  • Hand Rejuvenation
  • Feminine Rejuvenation

With multiple uses, your gift can be customized to the needs of your special someone!

#5 Botox/Fillers

Treat your loved one to youthful skin with Botox or Fillers. Injectables and dermal fillers lessen the effects of aging skin by restoring volume to hollowed areas and restore the contours and smoothness of the face. These non-surgical treatments work in various ways to provide fullness and lift to problem areas by smoothing out wrinkles, plumping flat lips and correcting hollowed skin areas.

#6 Fat Transfer

Noninvasive fat transfers add volume to the skin in the face and hands, giving you a more rested, youthful appearance. Using your body’s own unwanted fat, the procedure can reduce crow’s feet, laugh lines and ridges that appear as a regular part of aging. Along with improving the skin’s appearance and reversing the signs of aging, fat transfers can also repair and reconstruct skin that’s been damaged by trauma or surgery.

#7 SlimLipo

Give the gift of firmer skin with a SlimLipo treatment. SlimLipo™ is a liposuction technique that uses laser wavelengths to dissolve fat. With a few tiny incisions, this laser gently “melts” fat for quick and permanent results. Like other laser treatments, the improvements are multifaceted. Since the lasers stimulate skin cells into producing collagen and elastin, you can also tighten up the skin, so you aren’t left with any sagging or wrinkles.

#8 Lip Augmentation

Make every day a moment under the mistletoe with lip augmentation. Lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that adds volume and fullness to the lips. The most common method is the use of injectable fillers. However, there are a variety of ways including fat transfers and surgical lip implants to achieve a plump pout.

#9 Mini Tummy Tuck

Give the gift of an enhanced silhouette with a mini tummy tuck. A mini tummy tuck is a surgical procedure that flattens the look of the belly, but with less invasive techniques than a standard tummy tuck. It renders a shorter scar, and primarily focuses on excess skin and abdominal wall laxity below the belly button.

Choosing the Right Medical Peel

Choosing the Right Medical Peel

Medical peels are a beneficial way to rejuvenate your skin. But with so many varieties available, it can be difficult to choose which peel is for you. If you are considering a medical peel to improve the look of your skin, read our guide on how to choose the right medical peel for you.

Vitamin C Peel

Vitamin C is one of the best-known defenses against free radicals. This peel is an option for anyone who suffers from acne because it deeply cleanses the pores and provides an anti-bacterial action to prevent acne from reappearing. The acid found in Vitamin C also works as a bleaching agent, which can help restore imbalanced skin tone and help fade blemishes.

VI Peel

The VI Peel® contains a synergistic blend of ingredients suitable for all skin types. This peel works at the cellular level to tackle skin problems such as fine lines, wrinkles, and shrinking enlarged pores. With the help of many acids and vitamins, it’s efficient at reducing hyperpigmentation and acne.

Vitalize Peel

The Vitalize Peel uses a combination of AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids and Beta Hydroxy Acids), along with Retinol, to give a more corrective exfoliation for the skin. Our most popular facial treatment and suitable for melasma, sun damage, acne, post hyper-inflammatory acne, fine lines and all-over tone and texture of skin. For best results, you should consider a series of three visits.

Illuminize Peel

Known as the “Liquid Microdermabrasion,” this light peel contains Phytic, Mandelic, Malic, and Salicylic Acids, along with Resorcinol, to rejuvenate the skin. Because it is a lighter treatment, it works well for teens or those who have never had a medical peel.

Zesty Orange Peel

This enzyme peel is full of Vitamin C and it also contains Salicylic Acid and Lactic Acid. Good for blemish-prone, sensitive skin. Because it has similar benefits to the Vitamin C Peel, it reduces the look of fine lines, wrinkles, and acne. You can also use it as a preventative for future breakouts.

Phyto-Pumpkin Peel

This enzyme peel helps glycolic-sensitive skin. It contains Vitamin A and Beta Carotene, ideal for adding a healthy glow to the skin. Because of the gentle exfoliation, this peel works on all skin types, especially those prone to rosacea.

Mango Peel

An enzyme peel with Lactic Acid, mango, and grapefruit, along with grape seed extracts to help with dryness. Strong enough to do the job without much of the irritation, it’s a great pre-wedding treatment!

Glycolic Peels

Our glycolic peels vary in strength. They help treat hyperpigmentation, fine lines, sun damage, clogged pores and some forms of acne. This peel is an option for someone who lacks the ‘down time’ required for most peeling. There are noticeable improvements in the skin’s tone and texture from even a single treatment.

Salicylic Peel

The Salicylic Peel helps decrease oil production in the skin. This is the very good treatment for acne and blackheads because it works deep in the pores. It’s gentle enough for use with other peels to help problem areas like T-zones and combination skin types.
