Five Most Common Cosmetic Surgery Procedures for Men

Even though cosmetic surgery is generally marketed to women, more men today are opting for procedures that will give them a more youthful and powerful appearance.

Cosmetic surgery is no longer just for females, as men underwent more than 85,000 procedures in 2018, according to a recent report from The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).

The ASAPS identified these five most common cosmetic surgery procedures for men last year:

  1. Liposuction
  2. Breast reduction (treatment of gynecomastia)
  3. Eyelid surgery
  4. Nose surgery (rhinoplasty)
  5. Tummy Tuck

As men request cosmetic procedures, they are becoming more tailored to address men’s specific concerns. While many of the procedures are similar to those traditionally performed for women, there are subtle but significant surgical variations, which ultimately produce the most appropriate results in cosmetic surgery for a man.

Let’s look more closely at the top five cosmetic surgery procedures for men.

Liposuction

Liposuction tops the list as the most common cosmetic procedure American men chose in 2018. Also known as lipoplasty, liposuction uses suction to reduce excess fat deposits between the skin and muscle.

Men with love handles or “beer bellies” that won’t disappear, despite spending hours at the gym, find that liposuction can get rid of the stubborn fat, giving them a leaner, trimmer appearance.

Breast Reduction(treatment of gynecomastia)

Gynecomastia is a condition characterized by enlarged breasts due to an overgrowth of tissue. Male breast reduction surgery is a cosmetic surgery procedure that reduces excess glandular tissue and fat to restore a flatter, firmer and more masculine contour to the chest.

Often called “man boobs,” gynecomastia is estimated to affect between 40 to 60 percent of men. Certain drugs, medical problems, and genetics can contribute to male breast enlargement, but there is no confirmed cause in the majority of cases.

For some men losing weight can help reduce the appearance of enlarged breasts.  Frequently there is excess glandular tissue as well even for the most slender male patients.

Male breast reduction surgery is an effective, long lasting treatment that reduces the excess tissue, restoring a more masculine and natural contour to the chest.

Eyelid Surgery

Wrinkles and deep lines, as well as puffiness on the lids, begin to develop with the passage of time. Aged, droopy eyelids can cause men to look old, tired, or angry, produce anxiety, and actually impair vision. Eyelid surgery solves that by removing excess skin and fat on upper and lower eyelids. It is often done in conjunction with other surgical procedures, including a facelift, eyebrow lift, and forehead lift.

Nose Surgery

Rhinoplasty reshapes the nose to improve its size, shape, or function.

Tummy Tuck

A Tummy Tuck, or abdominoplasty, reduces excess abdominal skin and tightens the abdominal muscles. Men have a smoother and firmer profile after a Tummy Tuck.

Many men also request Facelifts and Neck Lifts in our office, even though they didn’t make the top five list from the ASAPS. Both of these procedures rejuvenate the face, jawline, and neck by restoring sagging skin and other tissues. These help improve signs of aging and result in a younger appearance.

What Is a Mommy Makeover?

Even though the work is rewarding and you’d likely do it all over again, pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood take a toll on both mind and body. Getting a Mommy Makeover is an ideal way to do some much-needed self-care, transforming your body back to where it was before kids—or even better!

What exactly is a Mommy Makeover? A Mommy Makeover isn’t just one cookie-cutter procedure that’s prescribed for every mom who walks through our door.

Your Mommy Makeover at Marvel Cosmetic Surgery is fully customized to address your specific concerns after having grown, birthed, and nurtured a new life. A Mommy Makeover can address all signs of pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood that your body may reflect. Whether it’s flat, saggy breasts; excessive jiggling skin that stretched to accommodate a baby (or two!); or fine lines around your eyes and mouth that appear once sleep deprivation sets in, we have options to help.

How has pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood changed your body? Want to feel like your old self again?

It’s time to get a Mommy Makeover to do just that!

You design your Mommy Makeover

Here at Marvel Cosmetic Surgery, one of our board-certified cosmetic surgeons will work with you to tailor your Mommy Makeover to your priorities for your appearance and wellbeing.

You may think of a breast lift or tummy tuck when you think about post-pregnancy and childbirth cosmetic procedures. We go beyond the typical choices to help each woman achieve her specific appearance goals.

That may include vaginal rejuvenation, skin resurfacing, injectables or, a combination of all or some of these.

Still, the most common surgical procedures requested by mothers do involve the breasts and tummy. Here’s some more information about these procedures that will likely be on your Mommy Makeover “to-do” list:

Breast Procedures

A breast lift, or mastopexy, raises and reshapes sagging breasts. Dr. Marvel and our team of board-certified surgeons will recommend a specific type of breast lift based on your amount of sagging.

For women with only a small amount of sagging, Dr. Marvel will only make an incision around the areola. Moderate amounts of sagging will require an incision around the areola, as well as down the front of the breast. More severe cases will require an incision around the areola, down the front of the breast and in the breast crease.

You can also add a breast enlargement to your breast lift. In many cases, women who think they need a Breast Lift will only require implants to successfully lift the breasts. During your consultation, our doctors will help determine if a lift is required or if you only need augmentation.

Tummy Tuck

tummy tuck will dramatically improve your stomach’s appearance. Dr. Marvel, Dr. Ingram, or Dr. Morales will make an incision between your navel and pubic hairline and reduce excess fat, skin, and tissue. Weakened abdominal muscles are also repaired during the procedure. The procedure is safe and delivers immediate results.

Liposuction

Liposuction safely reduces stubborn fatty deposits that don’t respond to diet or exercise. During the procedure, a small incision is made in your skin. One of our board- certified surgeons will insert a tube called a cannula into the fatty tissue and use it to loosen the tissue and extract the fat.

Extreme Weight Loss and Sagging Skin – What You Can’t Fix at the Gym!

You’ve worked hard and the scales prove it! The fat is gone, but with your extreme weight loss, you’re unfortunately left with sagging skin. While some areas of skin may tighten on their own during the weight loss and maintenance process, many previously obese individuals find that the excess flab can’t be fixed at the gym.

Cosmetic surgery can help you get rid of sagging skin after extreme weight loss. Marvel Cosmetic Surgery offers a variety of solutions that remove extra skin and give you a tighter, leaner body once you’ve reached your ideal weight.

Body Contouring

Body contouring, or a body lift, can give your entire body a new look. When obese individuals lose 100 pounds or more, they will likely have sagging skin in multiple areas of the body. A body lift can remove the excess skin in multiple areas in one procedure. This is an invasive and complex procedure, but it provides beautiful and lasting tightened skin and a trim silhouette for the buttocks, abdomen, waist, hips, thighs, arms, and more.

A body lift may not be necessary for every weight loss situation. If you have isolated areas of flabby skin you’d like to remove or areas you specifically want to lift and tighten, you may choose a singular procedure such as a tummy tuck, arm lift, or breast lift.

Tummy Tuck

When diet and exercise shrink your belly—but leave a ring of sagging skin around your midsection where fat used to be—a tummy tuck can help make you slim and trim.

A tummy tuck is also frequently part of an all-over body lift. Here at Marvel, we offer a regular tummy tuck, also known as an abdominoplasty, which removes excess fat and skin from the waist. In most cases, it also restores weakened or separated muscles creating an abdominal profile that is more smooth and firm.

Patients can also opt for a mini tummy tuck. This procedure will flatten the look of the belly, but with less invasive techniques than a standard tummy tuck. It primarily focuses on excess skin and abdominal wall laxity below the belly button.

Arm Lift

After extreme weight loss, it’s quite common to have sagging skin around the arms. An arm lift will surgically remove that excess skin, giving you tighter and more defined contours.

Breast Lift

Yet another area where extreme weight loss can cause droopy, sagging skin are on the breasts. After an extreme weight loss, breasts may need contouring, tightening, or lifting. A breast lift raises and firms breasts by removing surplus skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the breasts.

Should you get cosmetic surgery to remove sagging skin after extreme weight loss?

Cosmetic surgery procedures are ideal for removing sagging skin after extreme weight loss but the individual must meet a few requirements.

  • You have reached your ideal weight and you’re committed to maintaining it through diet and exercise.
  • You’re in overall good health.
  • You don’t plan to become pregnant or you’ve completed childbearing.

If you’ve lost an extreme amount of weight but are dealing with the after-effects of unwanted sagging, loose, and droopy skin on parts of your body, we have solutions. Marvel Cosmetic Surgery can help complete your transformation so you can show off the beautiful shape and sexy contours you’ve worked so hard to obtain.

Call us today at 615-538-0399 to schedule a consultation to discuss your options for skin removal after extreme weight loss.

How Can I Ditch the Double Chin?

You hope it’s a trick mirror that has you seeing double! Unfortunately, many of us deal with extra fat and skin around the neck, thanks to heredity, gravity, age, and weight loss. Thankfully, you have several options to help you ditch the double chin.

At Marvel Cosmetic Surgery, we offer a variety of solutions to help eliminate your double chin. They range from non-surgical and non-invasive to surgical, more complex procedures, designed to address several issues of the face and neck in one surgery.

During your consultation, we will discuss your concerns and goals for your appearance and help you discover the best option to help you ditch your double chin once and for all.

Let’s take a brief look at the procedures that will make your face and neck tight, toned, and beautiful: face lift, neck lift, and liposuction.

Face Lift

If you’d like to address your double chin, along with other issues with sagging skin or excess fat deposits on the face, a face lift may be the best option.

Facelift surgery lifts and tightens the underlying tissues of the face to reduce sagging and excess fat deposits. The procedure involves the tightening of the facial and neck skin, the muscles, and the removal of excess skin. Often, the procedure is done in conjunction with other facial cosmetic surgeries, such as a brow and forehead lift, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery)chin augmentationliposuction, and rhinoplasty (surgery of the nose). Most patients are delighted with their results after a face lift, especially when they are aiming to correct more than one issue on the neck and face.

Neck Lift

A neck lift will restore the contours of the face and neck and will improve the appearance of loose, sagging skin under your jaw line. A neck lift is best for patients who are dealing primarily with unwanted flabby skin under the chin and on the neck, often experienced by people who have experienced an extreme weight loss.

Liposuction

If extra fat, and not excess skin, is causing your double chin, then liposuction may be best for your situation. Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty, is a popular cosmetic procedure that uses suction to reduce excess fat deposits between the skin and muscle. This technique works well on stubborn fat deposits despite a strict diet and active physical procedures. Liposuction is a surgical solution but offers minimal downtime and recovery.

It’s Time to Ditch Your Double Chin!

We want you to love your reflection when you look in the mirror. We at Marvel Cosmetic Surgery can offer you the right cosmetic procedure to help you ditch that double chin.

Is Rhinoplasty Right for You?

Marvel Cosmetic. Rhinoplasty

Front and center, your nose plays an important role in your appearance and how you feel about yourself. If you are unhappy with the size or shape of your nose, or if you feel it simply doesn’t “fit” with your face, you’re not alone. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, rhinoplasty is among the top five most popular invasive cosmetic surgical procedures.

So, is rhinoplasty right for you? When performed by a skilled, qualified cosmetic surgeon, rhinoplasty, more commonly referred to as a “nose job,” can have a significant positive impact on your appearance and health.

Here are some of the most common reasons people choose to have rhinoplasty. A nose job may be right for you if any of these sounds like your situation.

You have breathing issues.

Sometimes a medical issue with your nose can also cause a cosmetic issue. If you struggle with chronic congestion or have trouble breathing, consider the possibility that you may have a deviated septum (which can cause a structural nasal problem that may also create a misshapen nose).

The septum is a wall of cartilage between your two nostrils, and it divides the nasal cavity in half. An ideal septum is centered in the nose and creates an even passageway on both the left and right side. A deviated septum, which occurs when the septum shifts away from the midline, can cause cosmetic problems as well as issues with breathing. Rhinoplasty can help correct this, which will help you breathe normally and give you a beautiful, smooth profile.

You have a crooked or larger nose, a bump, a hook, or another unsightly characteristic.

If you’ve ever wished that your nose was smaller or straighter and never thought it looked quite proportional to the rest of your face, then you may be a great candidate for rhinoplasty. The procedure can correct all sorts of cosmetic concerns, such as a bump, a hook, a wide nose, a thick or bulbous tip, or nostril size and position. Rhinoplasty can also help with any cosmetic issues that result from injury or trauma.

You’re not happy with your appearance, and you want a nose that’s a better complement to your face.

Even though a nose job won’t result in “perfection,” the procedure will give you a beautiful revision that will be a lovely addition to your face. Your nose job will be unique to your situation, your face, and the goals for your procedure. Rhinoplasty is designed to enhance your true beauty with an end result that looks natural alongside your unique facial features.

We at Marvel Cosmetic are excited to help you achieve the look you’ve been dreaming of, which may also alleviate breathing problems, chronic congestion issues, or help alleviate pain sustained in an accident. Whatever the reason you’re interested in rhinoplasty, we can help!

If you’re curious to learn more about rhinoplasty and discover whether or not you’re a good candidate for the procedure, schedule a free consultation. One of our doctors will explain the procedure to you in detail, address concerns specific to your situation, and answer all your questions. Give us a call today at 615-538-0399 to take the first step!

Slowing the Results of Aging with Prejuvenation

Increasingly, younger women are slowing the results of aging with prejuvenation procedures that have become standard aspects of their beauty routines.

When it comes to beauty and overall well being, why wait for the signs of age to take over? It’s better to be proactive and offensive when it comes to stopping the effects of time on your face in the form of wrinkles, creases, crows’ feet, and laugh lines.

How can you prevent the results of aging? What are some procedures you could add to your regimen that would help you keep your youthful appearance?

Let’s take a look at prejuvenation procedures and how they can help you.

Top Prejuvenation Procedures

Most common among the prejuvenation procedures are injectables and fillers. These are non-surgical treatments that provide a youthful look without the cost and downtime of invasive surgery.

It is estimated that over one million men and women annually use injectables and dermal fillers, and many of these users are younger adults who are aiming to prevent aging.

Injectables and dermal fillers lessen the effects of aging skin by:

  • restoring volume around hollowed areas,
  • restoring the contours and smoothness of the face,
  • providing volume and lift to problem areas by smoothing out wrinkles,
  • plumping flat lips, and
  • correcting hollowed skin areas.

There are two types of injectables, those that relax facial muscles and thereby mend facial lines and dermal fillers that plump out wrinkles. Dermal fillers are injected directly into the skin to correct the wrinkle, depression or fold; the filler can be either naturally derived or a synthetic material.

Here’s a brief look at what we offer to patients who are interested in prejuvenation at Marvel Cosmetic.

Injectables

Botox is derived from a family of neurotoxins that relax facial muscles. By temporarily paralyzing muscles it can remove wrinkles cosmetically such as those above the eyebrows on the forehead also called frown lines, lines that form around the corners of eyes, and other facial wrinkles.

Dysport is very similar to Botox as it is from the same family of neurotoxins. With a different formulation, Dysport spreads to a wider area. The onset of Dysport is 2-5 days compared to 4-7 for Botox. There are some reports that results may not last as long as Botox, but this is still being studied.

Fillers

Juvederm: A family of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. An injection corrects moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles and lasts nine months to one year.

Restylane:  A line of hyaluronic acid fillers that provide natural-looking results by smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds.  Providing subtle lip enhancement and smoothing the lines, adding lift and volume to the cheeks.

Voluma: Voluma is also based on hyaluronic acid and used to treat the middle of the face including the nose and associated bony structures. As an HA filler, after injection, it can be shaped and molded into the desired contour. Voluma can last up to two years, almost twice as long as other fillers.

Kybella: The only FDA approved treatment to improve the appearance of extra fat below the chin, commonly known as a “double chin.” The active ingredient is based on a component the body makes for absorbing fat cells and is injected into the affected area of the chin.

Bellafill: A dermal filler that is meant to be a semi-permanent solution for wrinkles by restoring volume and fullness to the skin.  Approved since October 2006 for the treatment of nasolabial fold, commonly know as “smile lines” or “laugh lines,” it is also used for acne scars, and smoothing wrinkles.

Prevention Is The Key to Youthful Skin

Doctors have emphasized the importance of healthy habits in maintaining beautiful, youthful skin: sun protection, healthy diet, and not smoking. These mandates should be a “given,” especially when it comes to preventing wrinkled, creased, and aging skin.

Prejuvenation techniques, such as regular use of injectables and fillers begun before the signs of aging appear, can be an important partner in the war against the effects of time.

Liposuction vs Tummy Tuck – How to Choose

Liposuction vs Tummy Tuck - How to Choose

Bikini season is just around the corner. And if you’re considering a procedure to remove stubborn fat, there are several great options to consider. Two of the most popular procedures to remove stubborn fat and tackle trouble areas are liposuction and a tummy tuck.

So what’s the difference between these two procedures and how do you choose what’s right for you? Let’s break it down and take a look!

Liposuction

Liposuction in its most basic form, is a popular cosmetic surgery that is performed by using suction to break down and suction out the excess fat deposits from the body

As one of the most sought out cosmetic surgery procedures in the world, liposuction isn’t considered a major operation. In fact, it is considered a very minor invasive procedure and is generally an outpatient type of surgery. Some patients may be under general anesthesia but most only require IV sedation and are allowed to go home the same day as the surgery.

Here are some of the most common “target” areas where traditional liposuction is performed:

  • Abdomen and Waist
  • Back
  • Calves and Ankles
  • Chest Area
  • Hips and buttocks
  • Inner knee
  • Thighs
  • Upper arm

Here at Marvel Cosmetic Surgery, we also offer an all-inclusive liposuction procedure called Lipo360, to contour and shape the midsection, 360 degrees around. The possible areas for treatment are the upper and lower abdominals, the flanks on both sides, and the lower and mid-back.

This procedure uses a vacuum to target and suction fat from specific areas in the midsection. Our surgeons use special techniques to accentuate the patient’s natural curves and create a dramatic yet natural-looking result.

However, bear in mind, Liposuction is not a weight management program nor a solution for treating obesity.

Ideal patients are those who have a good bill of health, are close or near their goal weight (BMI), nonsmokers, have great skin elasticity and have no blood flow/circulation issues. You should consider getting a liposuction if you have areas of fat deposits that are disproportionate to the rest of your body. Patients who still have a significant amount of weight to lose are not good candidates for liposuction.

If you are aiming for a sleeker contour and want more definition in certain areas of the body then liposuction is a great option for you.

Tummy Tuck

A flat and well-toned abdomen is what many of us strive for through exercise and weight control. Sometimes though, these methods cannot guarantee results.

Abdominoplasty or more commonly known as “tummy tuck” is a cosmetic surgery procedure where excess skin and fat from the waist, middle and lower abdomen is removed. This also involves tightening the abdominal muscles which leads to a smaller bulge in the stomach and abdominal area.

The procedure itself is done through a hip-to-hip cut or an incision at the bikini line. The skin and fat is then lifted off the abdominal wall where any excess skin is pulled down and removed. Any stretch marks as a result of childbearing or obesity is repaired through the stitching. This results in the tightening of the underlying muscles in the abdominal wall, which leads to a flatter stomach.

As this is a more invasive procedure compared to liposuction, recovery times tend to be longer. A patient will need at least 2 to 4 weeks for the body to recover, while scars and swelling may take a couple of months to heal.

In summary, if you’re looking to just sculpt or shape certain “target” areas in your body, then liposuction is the way to go. If your problem is excess skin due to weight loss or child birth, then tummy tuck might be a better fit.

Keep in mind that while these are separate procedures, it is possible to have both of these done to get the optimal results for the ideal body shape you want.

With summer just around the corner, we at Marvel Cosmetic are here to help you achieve your ideal shape. Curious to learn more and decide which procedure is right for you? Breast Lift and Implants After Pregnancy

Breast Lift and Implants After Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a wonderful phase in a woman’s life. It allows you to experience the happiness, contentment and fulfillment that comes from carrying and bringing a new life into this world. And while pregnancy is an incredible, life-changing experience, it also brings significant changes to a woman’s body, particularly to her breasts.

After pregnancy, you may find yourself wanting a lift or implants to restore the look of your breasts. In this blog, we break down some of the most commonly asked questions and misconceptions of having a breast lift or implants after giving birth.

Post Pregnancy Changes

Pregnancy causes various changes to your body, especially to your breasts. Due to the hormonal changes and imbalance, your breasts will be in a constant state of flux. Some changes will be permanent but generally, these changes will be temporary. Some of these will include a change in bust size, drooping or sagging breasts, protruding or stretched areolas, and uneven breast size. These changes are dependent on a number of factors – age, lifestyle, genetics and skin sensitivity. The good news is – all of these changes can be addressed with the right procedure.

If there is loss of volume in the upper portion of your breasts due to post-pregnancy changes then you are an excellent candidate for a breast lift or even breast augmentation. Both procedures will increase the fullness, projection and perkiness of your breasts, and improve the overall balance of your figure.

Stretch Marks

Another concern you may have about your post-baby breasts are stretch marks. Usually, the stretched skin returns to normal after pregnancy. But in some cases (usually genetics), stretch marks appear and stay forever. If your siblings, mom or even grandma had stretch marks post pregnancy, then chances are greater that you will too. A little correction will help as well.

A breast lift (Mastopexy) will help make your breasts firmer by removing any excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the breasts. This will help with stretch marks or stretched skin in being restored to a more youthful tightness. Many of our patients choose to get breast implants at the same time to achieve optimal results.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is one of the ultimate culprits behind the changes that happen to your breasts. Regardless if you’ve had just one or multiple kids, the impact that this has on your breasts is tremendous.

Think of the number of times that you have nursed your baby, the recurring inflation and deflation of your breasts, and not to mention, sore nipples. What’s worse is if you’re a constant victim of mastitis – blocked milk ducts.

Breastfeeding can lead to any of the following changes:

  • Shrinking breasts
  • Irregular lumps
  • Sagging skin
  • Smaller / bigger nipples
  • Irregular breast shapes

Fear not as you are not alone in this post-pregnancy journey. This is where a breast lift and/or breast augmentation can help. After pregnancy and breastfeeding, a breast lift is designed to enhance your breast shape and correct drooping, sagging breasts. Breast augmentation will restore lost volume and projection.

Most of our patients ask if it’s okay to get breast implants before having children, or whether it’s better to wait until after childbirth. And the truth is – we don’t have a definite answer to that. It actually varies from person to person. Pregnancy affects each woman differently.

If you do plan on becoming pregnant in the near future, within the next 12 months, then you might want to hold off on your plans of having a breast lift or breast augmentation. Why? Because your breasts will inevitably go through significant changes throughout your pregnancy and your shape, volume and size may change.

However, if you are done having children, and are ready to restore the youthful look of your pre-pregnancy breasts, you may be an excellent candidate for a breast lift or implants.

Is a Brazilian Butt Lift Safe?

Is a Brazilian Butt Lift Safe?

Tired of spending hours in the gym doing squats and still not getting the results you want? You may be a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift. A Brazilian Butt Lift is a great option for those who are looking to not only shape their bottom, but also trim the waistline. This procedure uses your own body fat to enhance your shape and give you the curves you’ve always wanted.

What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?

The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a cosmetic procedure that uses fat from your own body to shape your backside and enhance your curves. Using your own body fat will give the most natural looking and incredible results.

Some butt lifts require implants, but this isn’t the case with the BBL. With BBL, the surgeon can remove fat from the abdomen, back, stomach, or thighs. The removed fat is then purified before it is injected into the buttocks to create a rounder, shapely contour. Having various injection points gives the doctor the ability to control the contouring and final shape.

How safe is BBL?

In general, BBL is a very safe procedure. But as with any other major cosmetic procedure, do your research and make sure you choose a surgeon who is very experienced in performing Brazilian Butt Lifts.

Another benefit of BBL is that it involves Fat Transfer (also known as fat grafting) to move excess fat from one part of the body to another. This type of procedure significantly lowers your risk of infection. Infection can sometimes take place if the body rejects unwanted or foreign substances. However, in a BBL procedure you’re using your own fat cells, which your body is more likely to accept.

Using your own fat will also give you a more natural curve and feel. Patients often wonder if the results are as long lasting compared to using implants. And, the answer is yes. Having a BBL offers powerful and immediate results

The Right Candidate for a BBL

Anyone who is not seeing the firm, round shape they would like to achieve from workouts alone, a BBL is a great solution. This procedure will give you the firm, round shape you desire. Those with stretch marks, cellulite, and loose, hanging skin, also benefit from this type of procedure as it provides an opportunity to tighten and tone.

The Recovery

There are at least a few weeks of recovery for anyone who undergoes a BBL.  Expect some bruising and swelling immediately following the procedure in the buttocks and where the fat cells were harvested. Your doctor will prescribe medication to help alleviate any pain. Some patients might notice fluid draining from the incision, which is perfectly normal. You’ll just need to keep an eye on it and alert your doctor if there is anything unique or different about the fluid change.

A critical component to the success of a BBL is not sitting on your buttocks for a few weeks. Sitting on your bottom immediately after your procedure will reduce the flow of circulation, which may stunt your results.

Following your doctor’s after care instructions is an absolute must.

Is BBL right for you?

The first step towards a defined backside starts with a consultation. Our consultations are completely free of charge and give you the opportunity to speak directly with one of our doctors about the results you’re looking for.

Ready to see if BBL is right for you? Give us a call today at 615-861-8174 to book your FREE consultation.
